2021: Argis Solutions Year in Review

2021 has been an amazing year for Argis Solutions Inc.! How did we grow this past year? What changed and what didn’t? How have we evolved since our founding?

Unprecedented growth.  Our consultancy exploded with new business. Argis is being recognized as a trusted advisor. That trust helps our partner organizations take the steps forward needed for their technical and spatial solutions. We also perfected the art of working with clients virtually, giving our clients excellent service from a safe distance.

Even with our growing GIS consultancy, augmented reality is still a key player. Argis is seeing more and more organizations and individuals finding creative uses for AR: from botanic gardens to locators to the United States Air Force. The AR solutions attracting the most interest are those that involve maintaining small campuses, systems, and buried infrastructure.

New project opportunities. The market is seeing a lot more IoT projects, and Argis has received many requests for embedded systems development. From embedded firmware and mobile app support to development for both spatial and non-spatial solutions, the Argis team has delivered.

Client focus. Despite the continuing pandemic, our clients’ needs haven’t change. They still need efficient, effective augmented reality and geospatial technical solutions on time and within budget. Businesses still need to run and still need to protect their assets. With a 97% repeat business rate, Argis Solutions’ firm commitment to client satisfaction remains solid.

Partnerships help everyone. We love partnering! 2021 underscored how rewarding the Argis team finds collaboration with our partners, resulting in a whole service solution.

Take a look back with us at what we’ve focused on and accomplished over the past year:

  • Damage Prevention. We wrote about how AR can help a wide range of stakeholders in the damage prevention sphere. Read our analysis of the 2019 DIRT Report.

  • Automation. We tackled common objections to automation and built a case for how automating tasks both big and small makes a big difference in an organization’s efficiency. Several clients had big gains by introducing automation to their processes.

  • Redistricting. 2021 was a big year for redistricting, and GIS played a huge role in the analysis and the re-boundary process for state and local governments. We created a helpful overview of redistricting and what Colorado has done to try to de-politicize the process with both GIS and bipartisan committees.

  •  AR and Education. Esri education manager, Dr. Joseph Kerski, wrote a fantastic essay, “Touching the Future,” highlighting augmented reality and the Argis Lens.  He also created two great video tutorials on how to use augmented reality and mapping with mapped features and newly collected features for educators and non-profits.

  •  A Big Milestone. On April 5, 2021, Argis Solutions Inc. celebrated 5 years of business!

  •  Esri State and Local Government Specialty. We earned our second Esri specialty, adding to the Release Ready specialty we achieved the previous year. The State and Local Government specialty affirms our ability to support customers across all tiers of government.

  •  Elevations Geospatial Summer SeriesArgis Solutions CEO Brady Hustad gave the keynote address: “Roadworthy: Maps in Times of Crisis.”

  • AFWERX Feasibility Study. We were awarded a SBIR/STTR Phase 1 feasibility study through AF Ventures, also known as AFWERX.

  • The Town of Windsor, CO. We helped Windsor’s GIS department maximize their use of ArcGIS Enterprise and transition to ArcGIS Pro. We also helped them automate their data collection process for newly-added water infrastructure.

  • GISCO Fall Quarterly Meeting. CEO Brady Hustad presented on how AR helped improved workflows for a GIS manager in El Jebel, CO.

  • GIS Day 2021. We shared excerpts from an epic talk between Dr. Joseph Kerski and Brady Hustad about GIS education and the challenges and benefits of rapidly changing technology.

  • Partnerships. 2021 partnerships include Tyler TechnologiesEos Positioning Systems and Platte River Analytics, supporting our AR innovations as well as our GIS consulting services.

We are not sitting still! Stay tuned for new specialties, new solutions, and new services! We look forward to 2022 and serving you in state and local government, damage prevention and utilities.
