The Village of Oak Lawn, Illinois Upgrades its GIS Environment

Modernizing Oak Lawn’s GIS with Cloud-Based Infrastructure 

Argis Solutions partnered with the Village of Oak Lawn to upgrade its GIS environment after internal resource turnover left it unable to complete an upgrade on its own. Argis first conducted a full GIS assessment to evaluate the current system and design a tailored, future-focused plan aligned with Esri Enterprise standards. From there, the team implemented a cloud-based ArcGIS Enterprise environment in Azure, migrated all GIS data and applications, and connected the system with the Village’s existing asset management platform. This modernization reduced the Village’s reliance on on-premises infrastructure while creating a flexible, scalable foundation for long-term use. 

Empowering Staff and Streamlining Community Workflows 

Beyond the technical upgrades, Argis equipped Village staff across multiple departments with training on the new system and delivered tools that streamline workflows. These included a custom Experience Builder web application to support Community Development activities. With Argis’ support, the Village now has a more efficient, connected, and user-friendly GIS that strengthens internal coordination, supports public services, and provides a stronger platform for engaging its residents.
